How much does it cost to participate in the Marathon?
First of all, remember there are 3 different ways that you can be involved in the Marathon.
- Run or walk the 5K on Saturday, March 20th – Cost $35
- Run or walk the full Marathon on Sunday, March 21st – Cost $125
- Volunteer at the Stremick’s Heritage Foods Block Party
How much does it cost to be a member of Team Child S.H.A.R.E.?
Absolutely nothing! All you have to do is register for the LA Marathon by CLICKING HERE OR for the 5K by CLICKING HERE
If I register with the LA Marathon, do I also need to register with Team Child S.H.A.R.E.?
YES. You will need to register with the LA Marathon at www.lamarathon.com AND with Child S.H.A.R.E. by CLICKING HERE or by phoning Amanda at 818.649.8016.
How do I form a Team?
Ask your friends, family and co-works to join you in supporting Child S.H.A.R.E. by running or walking the LA Marathon or 5K. Make it an office event. No matter what the case, just remember to register yourself and assist your team members in registering with the LA Marathon and Team Child S.H.A.R.E. Then on behalf of your team, go out and collect sponsorships. Finally, remember to train!
How do I raise sponsorships as a member of Team Child S.H.A.R.E.?
Here are a few ideas to get you started:

Ask a local merchant that you frequent for $25

Where are my sponsorships going?
Quite simply you will help Child S.H.A.R.E. find homes for abused children in foster care. Here are a few examples of how your sponsorships will change the life of a foster child:

$2,500 – supports a child for one year

$250 – sponsors family support and resources for one month

$100 – welcomes a child into a new home

$50 – helps find a family
What if I don’t want to register or gather donations online?
No problem! Just call Amanda at 818.649.8016 and she will register your participation as a member of Team Child S.H.A.R.E. and will send you sponsorship forms via postal mail.
How do I turn my money in?
ONLINE – if your sponsors give online at your FirstGiving page, the money will be automatically transferred to Child S.H.A.R.E.’s Development Department and your sponsor will receive an acknowledgement receipt and thank you email for their gift. Finally, you will also receive an email informing you of the gift.
OFFLINE – If your sponsors hand you cash, write you a check or fill out a LA Marathon Individual Sponsor Slip, keep those safely guarded and turn them into Child S.H.A.R.E. by:

Dropping by the Glendale Office Monday – Friday, 8am – 5pm

Turn them in at the LA Marathon Expo at the Child S.H.A.R.E. booth on Friday, March 19th or Saturday, March 20th.

Turn them in to a Child S.H.A.R.E. staff member the day of the Marathon at the Stremick’s Heritage Foods Block Party
