Annual “Taste of Villa del Sol” To Benefit Orange County’s Abused and Neglected Foster Children
Fullerton, CA – The annual “Taste of Villa del Sol” is once again ready to bring its own special mix of live rock-n-roll, great food, dancing under the stars and one-of-a-kind signature drinks on September 18 from 7 p.m. to 11 p.m. The special event is set to take place in the open courtyard of the historic Villa del Sol in downtown Fullerton.
All proceeds will benefit Child S.H.A.R.E., a non-profit organization dedicated to finding safe, loving and stable homes for Orange County’s abused and neglected foster children. To date, the organization has found homes for over 2,500 children in foster care.
“Every time the community comes together for the cause of foster children, we become agents of change for the world around us,” said Child S.H.A.R.E. board member and event host Elsa Dunlap.
“Each ticket we sell goes directly to helping a child in crisis find a new home where they can thrive. These kids are just waiting and hoping to be adopted, and we need to do whatever we can to make that happen.”
Dunlap noted that the Villa del Sol event has raised nearly $40K dollars for the organization to date.
“We have a lot of dedicated volunteers, including all the restaurants and their staffs who donate their time, and everyone is working hard to get the word out right now,” said Dunlap. “Our goal is to break last year’s record of $15K because we’re seeing such a great need now during these tough economic times.”
Through funds raised at events such as the “Taste of Villa del Sol” and the recent L.A. Marathon, where sponsored teams raised over $115,000 in pledges, Child S.H.A.R.E. works to provide hope and opportunity to children in foster care, and support services for the families who adopt them.
“We encourage everyone who wants to give something back to the community to come down for a great evening in a beautiful setting, “said Dunlap.
Featured Villa del Sol restaurants donating their services include Hidalgo’s, The Cellar, Stadium Tavern and The Brownstone Café, who will be serving up generous-size portions of their signature dishes to hungry guests. The restaurants will also be serving specialty cocktails designed to complement their particular cuisine offerings.
Tickets are $50 each and are tax deductible.
