Newcomer Grace Hills Church joins the Team!
Lead by Pastor Mike Johnson, Grace Hills Church of Aliso Viejo has committed to Run. Walk. or Bike the LA Marathon as part of Team Child S.H.A.R.E. this Memorial Day. For the past month, Pastor Mike has lead by example, adhering to a strict training regime in order to be in top shape for his first marathon. He decided to join Team Child S.H.A.R.E. after speaking with his sister-in-law and Orange County Recruiter, Alena Strickland.
Foster care and adoption have touched Mike’s heart because his wife, Alice Johnson, was adopted as an infant. Six of his nieces and nephews were also adopted. Mike explains, “It is clear that every child matters to God. I am willing to do whatever it takes to find loving, safe homes for children in the foster care system. We, as a church are committed to help in any way we can. Jesus loves every child and we want to show them that love by not only our words, but our actions. Running a marathon to ensure that Child S.H.A.R.E. can continue to find safe homes for every child that needs one is putting our words into action”
