Every day Child S.H.A.R.E. embarks on a journey to find families for abused and abandoned children in foster care in LA, Orange and Riverside County. Since our inception in 1985, we have found homes for 2,536 children in foster care. With a few clicks of your mouse you can join the 2009 Child S.H.A.R.E. LA Marathon Team and show your commitment to finding safe, loving homes for these abused children.
The LA Marathon is one of the most important events on the Child S.H.A.R.E. calender. Child S.H.A.R.E. has been an official charity of the LA Marathon for 14 years. To be held on Memorial Day, May 25th 2009 we are looking to YOU- to join the Child S.H.A.R.E. Team.
It’s EASY, simply choose how you’d like to help from the list below and register with Child S.H.A.R.E. and the LA Marathon.

1. RUN the Marathon (26.2 miles and indeed a challenge!)
2. WALK the 5K (3.2 miles)
3. BIKE the Acura Bike Tour (approximately 20 miles)
4. Volunteer at our Mile 13 (along the marathon course) Block Party to cheer on runners and cut & pass out oranges & water
Know that the majority of our LA Marathon Team members are NOT elite athletes and participate in the Bike Tour, 5K or Block Party to raise sponsorships from their friends and family members to benefit Child S.H.A.R.E.
There is no minimum amount Child S.H.A.R.E. Team members must raise and there is no cost to join Team Child S.H.A.R.E. All Team members receive an official Child S.H.A.R.E. T-shirt as well as lunch, generously provided by In-N-Out Burger at the Mile 13 Block Party. We provide our Team members with all of the necessary sponsorship forms as well as guidance on soliciting and tracking sponsorships online and on paper.
Our goal in 2009 is to raise $100,000! Each dollar raised will help change the life of a foster child. Quite simply, the more money we raise the more foster children we can find homes for. Run. Walk or Bike alongside us this Memorial Day. It will be an unforgettable journey with an immeasurable impact on the life of a child.
