Orange County Christmas Party Update
On Saturday, December 6th, Newsong Church put together an amazing Christmas party for our Orange County families caring for children in the foster care system. Their sanctuary was transformed into a winter wonderland complete with Christmas trees, nutcrackers, a stocking clad fireplace, and even Santa’s sleigh!
Families were greeted with exciting live entertainment and a performance by a break dance group. Children played reindeer games, made holiday crafts in Santa’s Workshop, and posed for pictures with Santa and Mrs. Claus. When the party was over, every child received a special Christmas present.
Over 260 people came to take part in this special event, including 160 children. Many parents emailed us to say how truly blessed they felt by the generosity of the church community. For some of the children, it was the first time in their lives that they’ve had the joy of experiencing a family filled Christmas party planned just for them.
One parent wrote:
“Great job on the Christmas Party! My kids loved it! They had so much fun and talked about it all weekend. My husband loved it because the kids where having so much fun and were so safe that he could sit back and enjoy himself. Thanks so much for all the hard work. Everyone had a great time, and the volunteers from the church were so kind.”
A huge THANK YOU goes to the 150 Newsong Church volunteers who made this party possible. A special thank you goes to Angela Park who joyfully took on the task of planning this party and to Kat Yeung who organized all the volunteers that put this party into action. The care you all put into making this party a success was clearly a blessing to everyone in attendance.
We also want to say thank you to Grace Hills Church and Crown of Life Church who generously donated gifts to each and every child at the party. The children were so excited to receive their presents, and the joy of knowing that someone put together a special gift just for them was written all over their faces.
