LA Christmas Party Update

Caroling, crafts, face painting, photos with Santa, gifts, and goodies were all part of the festivities at Child S.H.A.R.E.’s 2008 LA County Christmas Party.  Hosted for the second year by our gracious partners at Pasadena Church of the Nazarene (Paz Naz), the party occurred on Saturday on December 13th.  More than 300 guests (foster/adoptive parents and their children) took part in the joyous celebration.

Not only did our friends at Paz Naz provide the perfect venue for the party, but they also provided a magnificent team of volunteers lead by Pastor Selena Holsten and her assistant, Melanie Lammers.  Other volunteer teams for the party included a local Girl Scout troop, the California Association of Insurance Professionals and the National Charity League of Burbank.

Cakes prepared by the American Heritage Girls served as gorgeous centerpieces at every table.  Food was in abundance with National Charity League preparing and serving a full lunch and Stremick’s Heritage Foods providing milk and ice cream treats.

Foster/adoptive mom, Kim Milner, and her singers from Santa Clarita Christian Fellowship provided a spirited holiday musical atmosphere for the occasion.  Santa took a break from all the craziness at the North Pole to be on hand to pass out candy canes and take pictures with all of our children and their families.

The LA County Child S.H.A.R.E. Christmas Celebration was once again a memorable and enjoyable event for our Child S.H.A.R.E. families.  Here is what some of our families had to say about the party:

“This was our first time attending the Child S.H.A.R.E. Christmas party and we were truly OVERWHELMED at the generosity of Child S.H.A.R.E. to all of the families that attended.  My husband and I were truly blown away by how blessed we were that day!  Thank you!  Thank you!  We really did feel special!!”

“We became part of Child S.H.A.R.E. last year. I thought the party was a lot of fun. We enjoyed going to a Christmas Celebration as a family. I was glad the kids were invited. I got to talk to other families who have children that are part of the Fost/Adopt situation. We shared some of our struggles and our joys. I am glad to know that I am not going through this alone.”
